As per the data released by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), India reported more than 56,000 new COVID cases and about 271 new deaths in same single-day. Over 1 Crore people recovered from the virus but on the other hand about 1,62,114 people died fighting from the virus.

The active cases further rose to 5,40,720 and over 6 Crore total vaccination done till date. Also .more than 1,13,93,021 people have recovered from the virus with 37,028 new discharges in last 24 hours.

Amid this, the center has released fresh guidelines to contain the spread.

Test-Track-Treat PROTOCOL

Under the TTT protocol, the ministry has kept 7 points which should be strictly followed by the States as well as the Union Territories to rapidly increase the RT-PCR test to reach the prescribed level of 70% and more.

The new detected positive cases are advised to be isolated/ quarantined at the earliest and timely treatment should be provided. Further as per the protocol, the contacts of new cases must be traced at the earliest and similarly isolated/ quarantined.  

As per the new cases tracks, containment zones should be carefully demarcated at the micro level, by the district authorities. Measures to be followed in containment zone: strict perimeter control, intensive house-to-house surveillance, contact tracing, surveillance for ILI (Influenza Like Illness)/ SARI (Severe Acute Respiratory Infections) cases.

COVID APPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR

Strict enforcement of wearing masks, sanitizing hands and social distancing should be followed to promote COVID-19 appropriate behavior in workplaces and in public, especially in crowded places.

LOCAL RESTRICTIONS

States and UTs may consider administrative actions, including imposition of appropriate fines. Also local restrictions can be imposed at district, sub-district, city and ward level.

NO RESTRICTION ON INTER-STATE AND INTRA-STATE

No restriction on movement of persons and goods. No separate approval/ permission or e-permit will be required for such movements.

STRICT ADHERENCE TO THE PRESCRIBED SOPs

All activities have been permitted outside of the Containment Zone and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) have been prescribed for various activities. SOPs shall be strictly enforced by concerned authorities.

These includes movement by passenger and metro trains, air travels, schools-colleges and other educational institutions, shopping malls and multiplexes, hotels and restaurants, gyms-parks, assemblies and congregations, etc.

COVID-19 VACCINATION

World’s largest vaccination drive against COVID-19 was launched by government of India. All the States and UTs are directed to rapidly step up the place of vaccination. This is to cover all the priority groups in an expeditious manner.

All of these fresh and updated guidelines will be effective from April 1, 2021 to April 30, 2021.
